INSTRUCTOR / JOB COACH
Job Summary:
The Day Program Instructor reports directly to the Day Program Supervisor and is responsible for providing quality service to all day program consumers in teaching, counseling, utilizing process of assessment, planning intervention, training, implementation and evaluation and effectively interacts with clients.
Job Requirements:
•All offers are contingent upon passing a background check, physical and a TB test or chest x-ray.
•Must have a current driver's license
•Must have current Car Registration and Car Insurance
•Have some experience working with adults with developmental disabilities
•Must be 21 years or older (In order to drive company vehicles)
Standard Requirements:
•Participate in the development of the individual program plan.
•Provide training as outlined in the individual program plan.
•Implement program curricula.
•Participate in consumer assessment, planning, and evaluation processes.
•Report special incidents to supervisor and suspected resident abuse according to applicable laws and regulations.
•Directly deliver individual and group learning experiences to assist each consumer served in obtaining his/her IPP objectives for which this program is responsible.
•Implement approved emergency procedures in the event of a fire, earthquake or other natural disaster.
•Communicate on a regular basis with day programs and other services providers and agencies, as needed.
•Attend staff meetings and participate in continuing education and trainings.
•Maintain data regarding consumer progress.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
•Picks up/drop off consumer from/to their home/facility (if necessary). Facilitate their departure and arrival for work or daily community integration activities.
•Teaches independency, promote meaningful activities out/ in community integration, mobility training, work and community skills as written in goals for consumer as per program standards.
•Will instruct consumer in proper behavior on the job and in the community.
•Will treat consumer as adults with respect and dignity.
•All reports (Daily Activity Log, Task analysis, etc. . .) are to be documented and turned in when due.

WHAT IS YOGA BARRE?
Hot 8 Yoga Barre is a dynamic fusion of yoga, body sculpting, barre work, and non impact cardio that will get you long and lean. The class is filled with strengthening postures at the barre that works the legs and abdominals intensely fused with yoga postures on the mat to release and lengthen from the barre work. This class is a cardiovascular program of isometric exercises and orthopedic stretches. Yoga Barre will tone your buttocks, abdominals, thighs, and arms. It will also improve your posture and form a sculpted physique. With the use of your own body weight for resistance and through dynamic exercise, the muscles are targeted and overloaded to the point of fatigue, then stretched through our yoga series for release.
ABOUT OUR INSTRUCTORS:
Nancy Norby earned a B.A in History. Post Grad studies in classical ballet with Ehrling Sunde of the Royal Ballet at United States International University in San Diego under the direction of Mr. Paul Hart, retired director of the Royal Ballet. In 1984 Nancy trained and was certified to teach in New York City with Lydia Bach, founder of The Lotte Berk Method. In 1986 she was chosen to be the first licensee of the Lotte Berk Method located in West Hollywood. Nancy has trained numerous teachers over the past twenty plus years and many teach some form of her Barre Class technique throughout Los Angeles. Nancy is recognized as a pioneer and expert in developing what is now the current popular Barre Class format.
Deanna Ainsworth ERYT, is the Yoga Director for Hot 8 Yoga. Yoga became her life path of healing and awakening in 1996. She completed teacher trainings with Conrad Zevely, Ana Forrest, Rama Berch and Master Yoga, along with Corepower in the Corepower, Hot Power Fusion and Yoga Sculpt styles. She leads the teacher trainings at Hot 8 Yoga which is a Yoga Alliance Registered School. She is trained in energy healing, aromatherapy with therapeutic-grade essential oils and is a Wolf Work practitioner-indigenous healing with foods and herbs. Deanna's life purpose is to empower oneself through yoga, meditation and healing with plant therapy. She is dedicated to the discovery of our true nature through yoga, meditation and nutrition.
